Drew Gets His Braces On

Three years I've had 'discussions' with Drew about braces. Many an evening meal he has asked, "when can I get my braces on? Can that be my birthday/Christmas present?" In these economically trying times, coming up with $2000 for the co-pay has been somewhat of a challenge to make the commitment to getting Drew's braces put on. I agree with him fully that he needs them, unfortunately things like rent and food on the table have been more pressing at times. ALAS, the day has finally arrived. I awoke this morning with excitement knowing I was giving my son something he so desired at long last. After a busy morning of getting ready and the other kids off to school, we were off to get them put on. Insurance dictates we use Gentle Dental or Willamette Dental so it was off to Oregon City to Gentle Dental. All the x-rays and ground work already completed, the appointment actually ended up being much shorter than I had originally anticipated. After an hour and a $600 down payment, we were done and Drew finally had his braces on. Oh the irony that once he finally had them, he was nervous about going to school :) I, however, think they look great on him and am happy he'll finally be able to get all the kinks worked out plus he'll end up with an even more gorgeous smile!
